Our Western squad had the fun opportunity to hold a practice in a unique space: the Rolla Skate Club located at Vancouver’s Pacific Northwestern Exhibition (PNE) grounds!
After a four hour practice, we got to watch local juniors and short-track derby skaters hold a public bout, which was well attended and featured smoke machines, a halftime show, and of course, clockwise roller derby (gah!)
After the bout, Team Canada skaters got to sign autographs for the kids, and hung around to show off our moves with at the public skate session that followed the game. We might have even convinced a few brave locals to let us jump over them!
